Join us for a hands-on creative workshop where you’ll learn three unique textile techniques taught by artists seasoned in their craft: cyanotype printing, bundle dyeing, and sewing. You’ll leave with a one of a kind bag that you made yourself.
Mordant Printing Workshop
Date: Saturday, March 8, 11am-5pm
Location: Green Matters Natural Dye Co, Lancaster, PA
Explore printmaking and patterns using natural dyes! We will dye with primary color dyes to create a full rainbow and limitless hues and values. In class, we will mix mordant print pastes and print directly with thickened mordants on natural fibers. We will go over mixing an aluminum (bright) print paste and an iron (dark) print paste, and many values in between. We will paint, screen print, and block print with these pastes, creating varied values and patterns on a single piece of cloth dyed in immersion dye baths.
