Hello! Glad you are here. I am a natural dyer and educator whose work explores the intersection of plants, textiles, and sustainability. I teach workshops and retreats across the United States, including at Penland School of Craft, John C. Campbell Folk School, and the Center for Craft.

I have been involved in Fibershed communities nationwide, served as Textiles Department Head at The Crucible in Oakland, California, and sat on the board of Local Cloth in Asheville, North Carolina. My teaching blends chemistry and experimentation with accessible, hands-on learning, shaped by years of study with leading natural dye practitioners including Catharine Ellis, Joy Boutrup, and Kathy Hattori. I have also assisted Yoshiko Wada and Tomoko Torimaru.

At home, I grow seasonal dye plants for ongoing experimentation and often share seeds and process with my students. Through teaching, writing, and research, I am committed to making natural dyeing approachable while fostering deeper connections between material, land, and community.
